Lagoon Creek Combined Cycle Generating Plant Upgrade

Haywood County, Tennessee

TVA requests your comments on a Draft Supplemental Environmental Assessment (EA) of its proposal to install and operate two additional combustion turbines and a steam turbine at its Lagoon Creek Combined Cycle natural gas-fueled generating plant.

In March 2007, TVA issued a Final EA (available at the link below) of its proposed purchase of the unfinished Tenaska generating plant in Haywood County. The 2007 EA also described various scenarios for completing and operating the plant. TVA subsequently purchased the site, and now proposes to complete and operate the plant. TVA has therefore issued this Draft Supplemental EA of a plant completion and operation scenario consisting of the installation of two combustion turbines and a steam turbine, resulting in an approximately 600-megawatt (MW) combined-cycle plant that would likely be operated in an intermediate- to base-load mode.
