The Bluffs Community Docks

Boone Reservoir, Sullivan County, Tennessee

TVA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) request your comments on a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) of private water use facilities on Boone Reservoir.

In October 2007, TVA and USACE received a joint permit application from RPT Partnership LLC for three sets of community boat slips along the right descending bank of Boone Reservoir at Watauga River Mile 7.2. TVA and USACE have prepared the Draft EA of the effects of permitting, constructing, and operating these facilities. The DEA also evaluates the effects of the applicant’s proposed shoreline stabilization and an associated golf cart path to allow access to the boat slips and shoreline from the adjacent planned residential subdivision. The overall development is known as The Bluffs at Boone Lake.

The boat slips, stabilization, and associated shoreline improvements require approval by TVA under Section 26a of the TVA Act and by the USACE under Section 10 of the River and Harbors Act and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.
